What about my
existing domain name?
You can keep your existing domain name and transfer
it to us or we can provide you with a completely new
address free of charge.
Am I allowed to
move my website address away?
Yes. It is illegal for
any web design or hosting company to keep hold of your website
address if you are the registered owner and it is
common practice for websites to be transferred
elsewhere. Should you wish to have a new
website address altogether, we can provide this to
you free of charge in which case you to not need to
carry out the transfer process below.
I think I am tied
into a contract with my existing website company?
You are not tied into a contract with your
website company as you are allowed to transfer
away to any other party at any time as long as your
hosting account is up to date with them.
Whether you have just signed up elsewhere or have
been a client for years, transferring to us is
free, easy and seamless - we take care of
everything.
How long does it take
to transfer my domain?
It normally takes
12-24 hours to transfer a .co.uk domain and about
7-10 days for a .com domain, however we will ensure
your website is complete before requesting the
transfer so that you have no downtime.
What if my current
website company are delaying the transfer or placing
unnecessary obstacles in the way of transferring my
domain away?
It
is simply unacceptable for any professional
organisation to place obstacles in the way of their
clients wishes.
If your current
website company is either:
a) Proving to not facilitate the transfer in a
timely and responsive manner as they should
(normally 12-48 hours for .co.uk domains or
approximately 7-10 days for .com domains), and or
b) Demanding
additional future hosting payments before the
release of your domain even through you are fully up
to date with your hosting payment plan and are
within your hosting period...
then we will:
1) Contact those
parties directly for an explanation and find a
resolution. If a satisfactory resolution has not
been met, then:

highlight those companies on this page with
supporting evidence if a reasonable explanation is
not given.

also ask you to carry out the following steps:
For .co.uk
domain names:
Please call Nominet
customer services on 01865 332244 and ask for access
to your "Online Account". After logging in,
you have the option to add our email address
to your account so we can login and care of the rest of the
transfer process, and we will even pay the £10+vat Nominet charge for you!
Note:
Nominet is the internet registry for UK's domain
names.
For .com domain
names:
Please contact us
if you are experiencing any difficulty or delay with
your .com domain transfer and we will take care of
this for you.
4. In addition to
this, you can raise a complaint against the
offending party with
Trading Standards and/or the
Advertising Standards Authority. If you
